Weber carb part 1

Tried to make the most of the sunny weather by fitting the new weber conversion kit. Be fair pretty straightforward to fit, bit fiddly getting the securing nuts tight ended up using a very skinny spanner which did the job okay. Only real issue was when i moved one of the manifold bolts to secure the new throttle cable support it stripped the thread, its gone back but wont tighten up to well, im going to have to sort that out when i get a bit more time and dry weather.
Car started up pretty much straight away and with a bit of adjustment is ticking over better that it ever has. It seems to pick up smoothly and rev freely too. It coughed back through the air filter a couple of times during the adjustment process but seems good now.
I wanted to take it for a spin but weather changed before id finished boxing it all up. It idles really smooth and sounds good too!
Took the opportunity to change the plastic inline filter which was full of crud.
So far so good, cant wait to take it for a little spin to try it out on the road!

Tony, if you measure the depth of the hole and substitute the original bolt for one slightly less in length than the depth you measured you will probably get away with it and not have to remove the inlet manifold.

I did this for some one to get then out of bother some time back, I used a very 5/16" UNF bolt I found and cut it to length and cut a new UNC thread on it.

Don't forget to have a good scrape around in the first and blow any muck and debris out as well.

Thanks for that, will give it a try!! i was going to run a tap into the hole but will give this a go first.
