You're not going to like this as it's an engineering nadir
They're held by a self tapping screw with a hole through the rubber and in the hardtopAlso, if you don't already have a hole in the hardtop, you can't usually drill it until everything's in place and then it's too late to paint the hole
I used stainless steel screws with loads of cavity wax sprayed inside.

Be careful.
When that drill bit goes through the trim & into the rubber is veeeeery close to the glass.
One touch & well......... shattered glass.
I had my rear window fitted a few weeks ago & it was pretty damn nerve racking I can tell you.
The Glass man & Body shop man were scratching their heads, but I removed the screen last year & saved the chrome screws to prove to them that it does fit like that.
It was all fine though.
