temp sender

Hi Im new to stags and it seems my temp guage doesnt work.

do I have to drain the system to fit a new temp sender?

Hi Garry, welcome to the club, the madhouse, etc i have taken mine out, without drain, just be quick, take out the old one then pop the new one straight away, coolant loss should not be too great, have you bough one from LD parts? and are you sure it's the sender?

I bought the sender from Rimmers, if the guage still doesnt work then i guess ill have to swop the guage.

Hi Gary,

i think i'm right in saying this but the senders from LD Parts tend to be more acurate than others, but seeing that you have one from Rimmers then fit it and see what happens, Alan, 157.7 refurbs guages, try him first as you will be sure of getting a good guage if you need one

To test the gauge is easy; just take off wire from sender, connect it to chassis earth, switch on ignition and the gauge should read full scale.
