    heritage panels quality control

I have had my wings sat in my workshop since april and from day one i wasnt happy with the nearside. I,m getting close to fitting them so had one more really good look. i will let you decide but i know i wouldnt let this past the skip.
The outside faces looks good but i was always sure of a bulge near the bottom , you can see it on the inside. I,m also amazed at the hammering that goes on too, the other one is hardly touched .
Wish me luck as moss my supplier has agreed to the pictures i sent them and another is waiting for me on monday. Quality control must have had a day off !

Wow, that's a mess, I'm not surprised they're replacing that one, somebody must be dying of embarrassment - I hope !
    Good luck with it. Martin.

Perhaps the same shotgun it appears the panel has been shot with should be applied to the quality control person!

I dont think Heritage have a quality control person ! - i used a load of there panels on a Mini built & the fit & finish on nearly all the panels was realy bad.

What do you expect??? Heritage panels are made to the same standard as the originals from the 1970's
            The answer isn't 42, it's 1/137

Drew its Funny cos it's true
Pj my wings actually fit ok even around the top of doors is looking good. It's luck of the draw really.
Anyway update I picked up the new wing today and it looks great. ( not sure if this one fits yet )
Moss of Bristol were excellent and seeing as they were local I wasn't stuck with paying for postage.
              Regards edd

At £300 odd pound per wing I'd want them to be perfect!!! I bought a pair of Heritage MGB GT wings for my err MGB GT and the guy in the shop who fitted them said they were awful, they were £250 per wing!! Bought a pattern rear quarter for £35 which "dropped on"

As drew said, original tooling 40+ years old!!

Unfortunately I have had the opposite experience with this supplier. For engine parts for my Spitfire a couple of times they mucked me about. I wont use them now and anyway I've never had any problem with the more usual suppliers for Stag bits

I think it's hard to pin down a country wide or even world wide company.
Most of the time it's the individual's on the counter or the phone that give you a good or poor service. I have so far ordered parts from wards and chatted on the phone with a brilliant service. Rimmers sent through my diff bolts in good time too.
Tried my wing tonight and pleased with it now.

I feel Im very lucky.Today I unwrapped a pair of Leyland wings that I bought in 1989 direct from BL.
I had left them in the bubble wrap that they came in until now.
They are off to go on my shell which is at the paint shop now.
The white dots is the residue from the bubble wrap.

I see from the label in pic 3, that that was a VOR order in 1989

VOR stands for Vehicle Off Road and was reserved for emergency orders where the part was needed urgently to get the car back on the road QUICKLY

                          Cheers
