Some while ago, the Club ran a scheme called the Knight Hawk Register. The scheme ran for many years and was managed by Keith Barnicle and was well supported. The purpose of the scheme was to provide members with the benefit that when travelling for holidays within the UK or Europe, there was a network of members who offered their services or help if ever called upon. A perfect example of this was this year the Dutch Group came over to the UK and was asking for names and details if they ran into trouble. They received a tremendous response.
At I stated at the AGM, I am pleased to announce that the SOC has now reinstated the scheme and that I will be administering it.
How will it work? – The list of members will be displayed with limited information in a PDF document on-line within the ‘Members Area’ and once a year and will be published in full in the magazine so it reaches all members here and overseas. See attached example which I am sure will develop over time.
The response has been fantastic already and it would be great to have even more Hawks on the list. I attach an application form which can either be printed off and posted to me at my address in the front of the magazine or completed and emailed to me at andrewsmith@stag.org.uk.
As mentioned, the list will appear at some point in time in the Members Area of the website but in the meantime, it would be great to see this really taking off and working alongside the Forum and reaching all members here and overseas.
Thank you John Braverstock for being Knight Hawk No 1
Any questions, please don’t hesitate to send me a PM
Thanks and regards
