    Finally the time has come!!!

    Hi all,

Well the big day has arrived guys my baby is off to the paint shop this week. Roll on January when I get her back then the fun of rebuilding her can begin. All I have to do now is finish rebuilding the engine over Xmas. As promised I have posted a few pic,s in my album (aptly labled "the pain and the glory"). One question to you all, does anyone know any companies that will supply complete rebuild kits for the BW35 box?

    Cheers all Simon.

Wow! just had a look at your resto pics, really impressive, so too is your garage. I would like to do this one day.
I have always wondered...how would you know where everything goes back to, each and every part, whats the secret?.

      Hello Sukh,

the easy way is to photograph each stag as you go, try to put all the bolts, nuts etc back into the part you,ve removed then box up each section so you don,t mix things up. When it comes to the wiring loams, put string tags on each end and label them so refitting them is a piece of cake. Having said all that you do get the odd, "where did this bit come from?" Another helpful aid I found, by mistake, was if you look at Rimmer Bros part listing and print them off you can identify parts and where they go from their drawing too.
Hope this helps you and when you start your restro there are plenty of talented and helpful oracles in the SOC to help you out if you need it mate, so get on and good luck.

      Cheers simon

Thank you simon. Post pics of your Stag when you get it back from the painters and when you start to "clothe" her back. Cheers.

            Hi Julian,

Just the one for now mate, although have to say I have really enjoyed doing the shell and wouldn,t mind doing another once this one is finished, in the pic's the red oxide colour is the Rustbuster 2 pack epoxy mastic and I have to say goes on really great from the gun and leaves a great finish, just a shame most of it is now covered in stone chip. Can't wait to see it in the laqued Damson mind.
