    V-Belt Size

    Hi all

does annyone know the width of the two V-belts? 9,5 or 10 mm? Both are available on the market. I want to change them and found that the long one is now 9,5x1113 mm and the short one is 10x725 mm. The difference is not big but the V-angle might be different and not matching the V-shape on the pulley.

        Hi Alan
Do you have the possibility to check what indication is marked on the belts? That could help.
        Many thanks

          Hi Klaus,

i have cut and pasted this from Peters web site for you:-

          Power Steering Belt GCB11113
          £7.05 INC VAT

Cogged Drive Belt for the Power Steering Pump from German OE Component Supplier Continental

It is specified as a 10mm wide belt with a 1110 to 1113 mm outer circumference.
The belt we supply is the right size and has the correct V section meaning it adjusts correctly, grips the pulley properly, both optimising performance and minimising wear.
Some belts on the market are as little as 1090 which is too tight, and the last QH belt we measured was 1114 too long.
Avoid getting grease or oil on a drive belt as this will cause a jerky action

          hope this helps

Many thanks for your efforts Alan, that really helps.
I can buy Contitech-Belts here at ebay etc. BTW: the Ldparts price is not bad as we pay here around 8 to 10 € for such a belt.

            Regards Klaus

              Hi Klaus,

like so many others i have tried parts from other suppliers, and it has cost me in money terms, i'm not saying other suppliers have faulty goods, some are good, but in all the parts i have bought i have never had a bad one from Peter, they all work and fit well, and his advice is excellent too. postage a bit expensive, but worth it

              glad to help
