Someone told me they were only fitted to autos.

My 73 manual has threaded holes for the bolts of the footrest. Must have taken at least ten minutes to fit it.

My 78 manual has one fitted which I think it has had from new.

Can one be retro fitted to a mk1 (I assume) 72 manual? I would go and have a look, but still don't have it back from its engine rebuild yet.

Thanks Steve, I'll bid on that. My only problem is that my left leg doesn't have any bolts!

H'mm my 72 ex LHD Auto doesn't have any threaded holes anywhere - hardly surprising really. I think I'll have to live without.

If it was LHD, it did have a footrest for the left foot - it's called a wheelarch

                      Cheers

My car, a Mk 1.5 first registered in August 1973, has a foot rest. It's manual with O/D.

You should be able to retrofit one to an earlier car; I would use Rivnuts to secure it.
