LD 350 would be the 350th car off the production line. (1970 and 1971 cars upto LD3900) The following years the numbers changed so that there was no number LD4000 etc... There is a good description in the Rimmers parts catalogue
Hi Steve
If I've pasted the link correctly, you should be able to find out what your commission number means. I think that yours would have been number 350.
Hi LD 35 did not have overdrive as it was a 4 speed man non od box when new so your car will be no 350 of the line. If you check you should find that there are no spaces between the three numbers ie LD350 and not LD 35 O hope that helps. Dave

my stag has the chassis no LD350 does this mean it was number 350 built or 35 or ? how do you read it .
steve
Hi Steve I dont know where you got that number from (log book ??) but as I have your car in paint at the moment Ive looked at the chassis plate and its actually LD 380 O. The body number will be different and ends in LD. So that would make your car a very late 1970 or very early 1971 built. As a matter of interest Ive read somewhere that the last car built in 1970 has the body number 355 LD. I think the records are not that accurate as MY car has body number 355 LD but was built on Tue 13th Oct 1970 !.
Many of the records are notoriously inaccurate Moreover, as the body numbers were fitted when the shells were produced at Speke, they don't really tell us too much with regards to production dates.
Nevertheless, the way things were, they could well have been on strike from 13th Oct until the end of the year !
