Well the gauges are now back in. The Speedo is slightly pissed and the Temp gauge doesnt work (is this important) Well it does work if you tap it.
I am not sure but think the smaller gauges might still be a bit dim, As I need to take the Temp gauge out again I think I will add three more LEDs and see what happens.

As the battery had gone flat I had to go for a spin a bit chilly with the roof down but great fun.

        Phil.
i used 9 LEDs for the small gauges and 18 for the large gauges when I did mine. Very even illumination but you do need a dimmer.

Thanks for that John, I dont think three strips would fit. The six LEDs in the speedo and tach look fine although another strip of six would fit. I've got to strip the Temp gauge as the needle is touching the scale so sticks I'll fit another three and see how it looks.

            Phil.
One strip of 9 will evenly space the LEDs around the circumference of a small gauge. I posted a photo of mine a year ago in the "gauge steaming up thread" or similar. dont know how to link to this

            John.

P.s. hope your hormones sort themselves out.

Hi Phil, I had that when i mounted them where you have ,i then moved them(only 3led's in each) to infront of the dial face and then they were too bright so i got some digital dimmers (£4 each)and individually dimmed them down to match the revcounter.they feel well balanced now.
