    Stromberg Rebuild

Hi, I have decided to rebuild my Strombergs. Can anyone suggest where I should get the kit from....Ldparts, Paddocks, Rimmers, fleabay??? etc.
What do I require? or better still any dedicated rebuild threads on here?. They was one mentioned (thread) where I think some money was donated to the Mcmillan cancer trust (in appreciation for the info) but unfortunately I could not open the link, it dont seem to exist anymore...

    Thanks, Sukh.

    Hi Sukh.

I would go to LD parts every time, no idea of cost differences though, if they are more expensive I'm sure it's justified by quality and quantity of parts. I seem to remember that LD included choke housing gaskets that others didn't.

    John.

Good carb info on buckeye triumphs, just remember the bits about the linkages are for a TR, not a Stag.
Header tanks - you can't beat a bit of bling.

Good set of Stroms lying about in the shed so thought I will use the winter to rebiuld them. Might use them again...who knows.

                Hi Sukh,

I bought my rebuild kit from Paddocks and I also bought new throttle spindles which were not included in the kit IIRC. I found it was a straightforward job but I stripped one carb at a time so that I had one for reference!

I rebuilt my carbs several years ago now. I can't recall off hand who I bought the kit from, but it was a genuine Zenith Stromberg kit and had loads of bits in, including spindles, butterflies jet tubes and needles. It wasn't cheap, but I have had no problems with my carbs since. Probably 3 years now.

...i rebuild my carbs recently using a rimmers kit. The zenith labeled- box contained everything i needed except needles and jets (which i didnt replace) only the included diaphragms were useless as they were way too stiff.
