    Cam Cover Cable Clips

Anyone know if these type of clips can still be had somewhere? The 'usual suspects' all seem to have 4-cable versions of the 2-cable clip which fits differently. Alternatively, did some Stags have a different 4-cable clip? If so, has anyone got a pic of the bracket they attach to?

    Hi Drew,

These are the only ones I have seen: http://www.ldparts.co.uk/shop/shop.p...6860d6260ea912 which, as you say, are similar to the 2-cable type. The brackets are flat pieces of steel spot welded to the outer side of the cam covers. I'll see if I can find a picture...............

These are the best I can come up with at the moment. I'm sure someone will have better:

      Hi Drew

I bought some from Paddocks which fit and do the job well.

        Hi Brian & Dave,

the ones at LD and Paddocks seem both to be the same type

which will not fit my cam cover unless I manufacture some different brackets. This is how the clips look on my covers:

That looks like someone has modified the Cam covers Drew, I have never seen a Stag with that arrangement.

Yes, looks like the brackets are pop rivetted on which unless you have some kind of pre-production cam covers certainly wouldn't be standard.

Interesting! The brackets certainly don't seem to be home-made or bodegd. The holes for the barbed clips are very accurate keyhole type of shapes and perfectly positioned. They could never have been filed out of a sheet of metal. Also the way that the brackets are folded in at least two different dimensions leads me away from a DIY hypothhesis. Wonder if maybe being LHD that they are different? Brake servo, clutch etc., are all on the other sde - maybe the plug leads have to take a different route??

I wonder if they are brackets from another car pop rivetted on? even on the right hand brackets it looks to me like the bracket has been added to the stock bracket, maybe that is just not clear in the picture but from what I can see I would say its been added.

Hello Drew as most have said I think someone has has retro fitted some alternative brackets to the cam covers as mine are the same as ld parts ,unless LHD differs as you say

My LHD had the same cam cover fastenings as RHD. 1972 Mk 1.

Thanks for all the replies. I've dug out some LHD photos and you're all right. Goodness knows why or how my clips came to exist - they've certainly been pinched from another car as the rivetted on extensions are so perfectly made! So now the question - how many do I need to buy of the 2-off and 4-off? And how is that centre one (2nd pic) fixed? Thanks!
