    Surely it's wrong to advertise it with these known potentially dangerous defects, don't get me wrong, I have used them myself for parts and they are very helpful but whilst not stating it, it does imply that you could Tax it and use it on the road until May, doesn't it

    Seen it when viewing the other Stag they have for sale .
    Trust me looks a lot worse in the flesh.

      I am sure that RS would fix the brakes, dampers etc for you once you bought it if you asked them nicely and paid them of course. or you could trailer it home and have a nice little project.

      Cant see a problem with it tbh.

      also used RS and found them to be most helpful

        Seems to be a fair advert - I agree that it could be a nice project but rather surprised a car can deteriorate so much in just 8 months

        I suppose mentioning the current MOT just highlights that the car has been some recent use as a selling point and is not a recommendation that this Stag is still roadworthy - infact by stating work has been identified as required for the next MOT suggests otherwise IMO.

        Even if I had my Stag MOT'd this lunchtime, this doesn't mean I couldn't be stopped for driving a defective vehicle on my way home - an MOT is only ever a minimum standard at a very specific point in time.

          I've always liked RS and I'd say they're being very honest about it more worryingly that little lot hasn't just happened since the last MOT has it.

            I just feel they should of at least advertised it as a Project, like Richard suggested, that needs work to make it road worthy, which it clearly isn't at the moment.

            If a dealer sells an un roadworthy car he could be prosecuted so I would of thought it was in their own interest to protect themselves and their good reputation with a statement in the Ad.

                One thing is for sure they are nice chaps at RS when i went there to view the other Stag they were very nice.
                But rang them today to see about fitting a new choke cable but they are out of stock for now and i will have to get back to them when they have one in.

                  I think RS are being fair in the Ad. The car is listed with all those faults despite it still having a 'valid' MOT. An MOT is only valid the day of test. It may last a year but that doesn't mean a car is safe 1 week after its test. RS didn't MOT I wouldn't of thought.

                  If you go and look at the car you will be aware of the need to trailer it away and I suspect that RS won't let you drive it away I am sure.

                    I bought my Stag at Robsport last November, by the way.

                    IMHO the price reflects that the car is not fully OK.

                    My Oliver was better by far and obviously a bit dearer. Of course I am spending money in Spain in order to get her back to glory.

                    Anyone who finds a Stag for 2900 quid obviously cannot expect an A1 car, I think.

                      Looks like thick underseal has been pulled off to expose the rust in many places, that is the big difference between now and a few years ago when MOT testers used to dig with screwdrivers and knock with hammers to find the rust, now they can't.

                      Which reminds me I must weld up the hole I hid in the inner sill with underseal before the next MOT, it worked last year but I didn't have a spare hour to weld it then!

                        As most have said I think its an honest add. How many of us are driving around with leaking wheel cylinders and shocks, that will not be discovered until the next service is carried out?
                        Even if your modern car goes into a main dealer they will have to get your permssion to carry out work required, garages can only advise not enforce. Just my view

                          Looks to me like an honest description "you pays your money and takes your choice" the valid MOT is questionable who issued it?

                            An honestly advertised fixer upper opportunity. Always found Robsport to be straight up and honest...

                            As to the MOT, there are good and bad testers, and favours done, but that should have no reflection on Robsport...
