Does anybody know if there is a cork gasket for the sump, if so who sells them? cheers.
Joel.
Hi Joel, I don't think I have ever seen a cork one but I have seen them in very different thicknesses, varying from paper thin to something like 1mm thick. I think the thick ones are the original quality.
The OE gaskets were a cream/white card, quite thick, which contained asbestos. For a while the only ones available were a black paper. Very thin and almost useless. LDparts now sell AJM561 that is 0.9mm thick and should do the job nicely.
Paddocks also offer GEG561OE - Sump Gasket OE Thickness.

I used to watch the Cork to Swansea ferry berth from my flat, and nothing from Cork or Swansea used to stop sump leaks. Use the LD parts one.
Cheers Johny

Lovely picture Johnny !
In the Fifties, we used to travel on MS Innesfallon (?) between Fishguard and Cork, a lovely exciting memory of being up late in wind and rain, I wish I were 7 again

Martin, I think there were a couple of Innisfallen. I remember having a tour with my dad in the 70's while it was docked in Swansea. Never sailed it to Ireland but watched it scores of times from the seafront flat. Just rented the place out now and the new tenant keeps posting facebook pics of the view across to Devon. I have a house now in Milford Haven where you can see the Pembroke to Rosslaire ferry pass to dock which I have travelled on...
