    Hi guys
Want to fit the new accuspark electronic ignition, i have at mo the newtronic electric one.
Question is how do i know if my dizzy used to have single points or double points, as there are two types of accuspark ignitions.

    Hi Vince,

Do you have a problem with the Newtronic! I have it on my car and it seems to be OK (just idle curiosity)

    Ian.

      Hi Ian
Where it is fixed to the back plate it has gone loose and i cant figure out where it should be, it dosen't screw into any holes it seems to be fixed on a kind of sliding bracket and its giving the engine a bad idle.
      Hope that makes sense.

Ah, I understand. if it's any help they have a technical department and are very helpful if you call them.

I think you will find its supposed to do that to allow the vacuum advance to move it,so it may not be the cause of your bad idle or maybe the vacuum advance isnt connected t it properly.I had one of those and it slides on to slots but is a poor design which has a lot of play in it so like you i binned it in favour of a pertronix however if it is the setup i think it is you will only have a custom baseplate and will need the 2 part standard base to fit your new ignition to.If it looks like this you will need a new base plate.
