new boot boards

hey chaps, got a blinding idea. i, as u guys know, am a college lecturer at cambridge, any way in out workshop we have a cnc, which is a computerised router. i have programmed it to copy the boot boards. they ave turned out excellent.

made them out of 10mm MDF

i thought that if a few stag men wanted some i could do them for yous. it will only be for the materials plus posting, the more we do the cheaper it ll be

materials about £10, plus postage

what do ya all reckon?

I could beup for a set. Only thing, isn't 10mm a bit thick? I was going to make some myself, but in 6mm, which is closer to the original 1/4" fibreboard.

yep marine ply is an excellent material, but is about £30 a sheet, i can do them out of that, but was just trying to keep it cheep,

I agree that marine would would be the 'belt & braces' approach , but I would be more than happy with MDF.

A coat of clear satin varnish would offer adaquate protection.

Let us all know the costs of postage.

ok, ive done a set, they are done in 9mm MDF, who wants the first set? postage approx £10

got an idea, pay with paypal then email me your address then i ll send em on,

i am just being cagey cause of other roofless people that might be watching our club i will never give out any address that i receive.
