Loss of power on roundabouts

We took our Stag out for a good run to the coast last night, running and sounding gorgeous - will soon be able to retorque our heads as approaching 500 miles since rebuild

However, I managed toidentify a symptom which had occurred on me the other day too. On exitinga roundabout / bend, no response from the accelerator for a good few seconds but it then clears itself(BTW fuel tank is over half full). Knocking the autobox down a gear seems to 'cure' though.

Not 100% sure but it seems to me to be a fuel starvation matter, rather than electrical - which would lead me to check the interia cut-out switch.

Any suggestions as what check for really appreciated

Just long shot but check the dashpots on your carbs and see if there is any oil in them and check the condition of the diaphragms. I only mention this because I suffered from hesitation up until recently and after rectifying the above it's miles better.

Symptoms match an article I read recently - not sure if it was SOC or another, but the issue was low oil in the autobox.

Only occurred when turning one way as the oil would 'slop' to one side leaving it too low to be picked up. Turning the other way or going straight and the oil level was sufficient to cover the pickup.

Worth checking?

Hi Paul

try tightening down the carb pedastal nut to the correct torque, take off the brass breather nut first , made a big difference in the past for me ,then i would say carb rebuild. would not suspect inertia switch but eliminate by joining the two sides and test driving.
