    Manual Gearbox Overhaul

We have started to refurbish the manual gearbox with J type O/D on my son's car. Can anyone recommend a supplier for the bearings that need to be replaced? I also need the 3 grommets/walsh plugs that hold the detent springs for the selector rods in the top cover.

    Thanks in advance,
    Raoul

I expect Chris Witor will have them. Don't know about his overseas shipping, but I'm sure he'll help.

    Cheers,
    Mike.
Mine since 1987. Finished a 20+ year rebuild in 2012. One of many Triumphs and a 1949 LandRover!

Thanks for the replies guys, Chris Witor had the bearings and the link to the OD shop is great. I can't find a supplier for the 3 grommets/Walsh/core plugs that secure the detent and preload the selector rods in the top cover. Any ideas?
              regards,
              Raoul

                      Hi Raoul,

                      Do you mean part 156665?

Try Mick Dolphin, he has them on his Triumph 2000 list

Raoul. If you have trouble obtaining the correct thrust washer assembly for the end of the countershaft in a Stag box, (rather than fit the 200/2500 ones that will go in but are wrong), these are now available again. The dished thrust washer, part number 154554 has been recently remanufactured. The other two pieces have always been available. Chec out the S.O.C. Spares website for availability. Mike.

Have they got a website ?

When I go to: http://www.socspares.co.uk/ all I get is a picture of two Stags, an email address and a link to an Ebay shop.

Even on the Ebay shop I can't see the parts referred to above

                            Cheers

                              Hi Julian,

I get to their website by following your link.

Only one part for stag gearbox though.
