Seeing the number of ads appearing on E-Bay more and more recently for Stag’s at really silly prices for apparently first rate cars leads me to ask if anyone has seen Quentin Wilson’s article in this months Classic Cars?
If you don’t buy the mag you should in any case as it is always a very interesting and informative read but his article just shows the lengths these fraudsters will go to worldwide to raise cash of anyone who may be taken in by their scheme. It is another variation on the ‘poor chap’ out in some country just trying to get his £5,000,000 wealth out of some estate or suchlike but just needs to raise some financial assistance to get the ball rolling – a small price for a cut in the final pay out. Lots of people were conned in this way, I remember even my Father God bless him nearly fell for one such scam but times have moved on and the classic motor car is just another way for these little Ba*st’rd’s to keep their lifestyle going and probably the drugs cartel they help with too.
Be careful – if it is too good to be true – it is – be in no doubts!
