'fraid not Julian. At the moment she's incontinent of both water and clutch fluid. Clutch is leaking from both the slave cylinder and the rubber tube between the reservoir and master cylinder. Water may be coming from the heater matrix . Gotta get them both fixed before she goes in to Chick Doig, http://www.chicdoig.com/ to get some paint touched up on the bodywork ready for the Spring/Summer. Sometimes she really tries my patience, especially when the sun shines and she doesn't want to play . Oh, the joys of Stag ownership!!!

Oh dear, sorry to hear that. At least the clutch stuff shouldn't be too hard to sort out. Heater matrix ? Ooh er. Radweld as a temporary fix poss ?

Good luck anyway. Your car's relative passed her MOT the other day but I've got carbs in bits at the moment and other stuff to do but, as you say, it's the joy of ownership. I think most 36 year old cars will probably be similar.

      Cheers

Many thanks for the offer Chris. I'll keep you in mind if it does indeed become a worst case scenario, but first I'm going to go with Julian's suggestion and try radweld. Really don't relish the idea of stripping out the matrix if I can avoid it.

            Best regards,
            Thom.

Glenn, I was so impressed with the ad the PO posted on Car and Classic that I did all the purchase transactions with him by phone and e-mail - without actually seeing the car in the flesh!!! The first time I saw it for real was the day I flew down from Fife to Cornwall to collect it and drive it home - all 600+ miles Never, ever regreted it, but on reflection, it was a huge risk.
