No problem using the same solution I'm sure that's why Hella make the unit. One installation issue - Unit has three screws one of them has to go through the small hole in the double skinned part of the boot lid.

This is a pig to do up. If I were doing it again I'd a) drill a new hole in the metal rib to take the cable and b) find a longer screw and a washer to fit over the existing hole in the rib so the head of the screw sits below the rib not in it.
I thought long and hard about building a high centre mount into the T Bar and then custom trimming it but it wouldn't work with top up or hard top on without being so low it would block the rear view mirror - so I gave up on the idea.

Looks good. I'm guessing I would run a wire from the brake switch rather than splice into one of the stop light wires in the boot, is that right?
                    Thx

I think it's got a 21Watt bulb (wedge base) so draws less than 2 amps. My car previously had a centre brake light just wired into the rear brake light circuit with no issues. I've done the same. Thinking about it -might be worth looking for an LED replacement bulb.

Paul from somerset has fitted two slim led strips on red and one yellow on his b post covers i believe yellow above the red but with top down very effective for indicators and stop lights as they are clear strips they do not notice until used.

That sounds like a neat set-up as well.
Thanks Nick. This will be a later job, as I will need to get the paint organised through the local autobody shop paint dealer.

Here is an alternative for those who want a 3rd brake light, but dont want to mount one on the bootlid:

One of our local members had one attached to the underside of the T-bar with velcro straps and it was quite effective. He ran the wires up behind the b-pillar trim. Sadly he no longer has his Stag and has replaced it with an MX5.................

No connection with the company, etc.

Back to square one. This is the response when I tried to buy one like Nick's stoplight:

The one they recommend doesn't look as good on a Stag - methinks...
