    carb help

    Hi guys

not posted for a while, the stag has been standing for a few weeks, started first time no problems, ticked over fine, revved up fine, but when driving she has developed a real flat spot when i pull away, its just as if she has lack of fuel, the pump is new so are filters plenty of fuel getting there, no problems when i'm moving, a friend said it could be a sticky one way valve, stuck as to where that is though, is it the valve in the float chamber??

    any help advise please

    Alan

Hi Alan, get the air filter elbows off, then take out the dampers, lift the pistons as high as they will go, and get some light oil onto the OUTSIDE of the central tube, work them up and down till you're certain they're free and drop under their own weight. I always try cheap and simple first. Martin.

It could be lack of oil in the dashpots, I had similar symptoms

              Rgds

Mine has been the same since I bought it 6 months ago.. Fiddling with carbs and kick down cable hasn't cured it yet. Will try diaphragms next ( getting them tomorrow )

                  Hi back now,

didnt really have time to have a good look

thanks Mart will try that, i have checked the dashpot oil Dave all good, i think if i said it hesitates before pulling away, its strange never experienced this, i could say its thinking about pulling off then it seems to wake up and off we go, no stalling at all will have better look next week, i will have more time then

                  thanks for the tips gents

                  alan
