    Rear wheel play

Before embarking on the trip to Stoneleigh tomorrow thought I'd check levels, tyre pressures etc and disturbed to find play in one of the rear wheels.

With the handbrake off there is play in the rear n/s wheel on the north/south plane but not the east/west.
With the handbake on there is no play in either plane.
If it's the bearings, why only play north/south?

    Advice gratefully received as always.

      Steve,

It sounds like you may have more than one issue, Wheel Bearing play will disappear with the brakes applied so check the radius arm bushes as well.

Just checked every item for play and it's definitely bearings so a replacement drive shaft is on the shopping list for tomorrow.
        Thanks for swift response chaps
