Looking at a Stag on Saturday

Iam off to have a look at this Stag on Saturday http://www.classiccarsforsale.co.uk/...-triumph-stag/ I have been speaking to the owner Glen and he seems a real nice and honest guy. Any know this car ?? The car looks awesome in the picture Glen has sent me. This will be the second Stag I have looked at this week. The first one was nice but was let down by the paint work and I would rather pay more for the right car. Wish me luck.

Perfection is what I am hoping for. I have always wanted a Stag and now is the time to get one. I just count myself lucky having the budget for the right car.

That's top money for a Stag and I would want it to be nigh on perfect for that money too !!

www.triumphstagshop.co.uk have a few nice ones at the moment as well (i have not connection to them)

I also know of another dealer who has a red stag for sale at the moment for twice the amount they paid for it !!!

I do keep an eye on www.triumphstagshop.co.uk If this yellow one I am looking at on Saturday doesn't work out I would be interested in the dark green Stag on their website. Has anyone any feed back on triumphstagshop and the Stags they sell.

They...I won't say who, will probably buy that Yellow Stag and any other good ones about (been done in the past) and put a 20+K price tag on it.
There are punters out there who will buy them, seen it many times.

Looks to be a nice car
While some say that its a lot of money , I would say if its as solid as advertised then its worth every penny (after a bit of a deal if possible )
I know from personal experience how much money it takes to put a stag right
Just make sure you take someone who knows a bit about them with you
and for that money I would want a bloody good inspection done before any money was parted with !
Shiny sill covers off to see what lies beneath , Front indicators out to see the what the wings look like from inside
If the owner Glen has nothing to hide then this should be OK
Hope you find the right one , don't rush as its still the rainy season !!

Thanks for all the replies. John as you sat it is a lot of money but if it is a good car then that will be money well spent. Fingers crossed this is a good car I have to admit I am really looking forward to viewing this car.

After stripping mine just about as far is possible I would like to see evidence of zebart plugs. So many unable to see channels and sections when paying top money a tiny camera would be a good idea.
