Door mirror adjusters

Hi,

just a short question regarding the door mirror adjusters, which I bought from LD: What's the right way to install them? Do they replace the metall washer between the mirror head and the fixing nut on the mounting stud?

They're additional, remove the head from the stem, fit new washer, reassemble, look in mirror successfully :-)

But once adjusted, don't move them again or they snap. I've got through two or three on the drivers side so far
