Carpets What do you recommend

I need to change the interior carpets in the car, they are the originals and make it look a bit shabby. The car had the light tan coloured carpets and I will go for the same.

I see there are a lot advertised on Fleebay and also from the usual suppliers and they advertise two qualities.

So my questions are

1. Is there much of a difference in quality on the carpets on offer for Stags?

2. What does a carpet set include e.g. ( what about the peices on the inner sills )

3. Which supplierare recommended?

4. What is an expected cost?

5.How good a fit are these carpets sets?

i would get in touch with stuart at soc for an item like this , you will get good advice anda good item. but as in all things carpet you get what you pay for, it maybe as good a result to have a new set made locally using yours as a pattern.

Thanks for the feedback. Anyone else any comments on fitting carpets?

I also see rimmers are offering underfelt for 50 quit. Is it worth fitting

The quality & fit are superb.

I fitted their wool kit many years ago (even though I have a Mark II, wool much nicer!) and it included everything.

If I remember correctly I only had to glue the back seat footwell kick panel and part of the inner sill up near the bulkhead.

Not cheap, I notice their wool kit is now over £200, the tufted kit £135.

I bought a set from Robsport three years ago.Like you my set was the original and very tatty. I'm not sure who makes them for Robsport.

Colour wise they are a very good match, my Stag is trim code 74. The set came with all the carpet bits including the sills, the bit below the rear seats, the hand brake cover and seat runner covers.

Unlike the originals none of the carpet pieces are molded so there's a certain amount of shaping and gluing required, but overall the fit was very good. I kept the backing from the original centre carpet piece as thisbit was supplied un-backedand also re-used the seat runner covers as the originals were OK and molded to fit.

Worst bit to fit was the hand brake cover, lots of pegs needs while the glue set.

The Aldridge set came molded, but if I recall only the seat runner bits required to be moulded anyway.

They also came backed with feltall per original (where felt fitted), and the footwell mats with plastic heel mats, again all per original.

Looks like it is a call to Aldridge on Monday, thanks for the advice.

Anyone got any nice photos of the wool set fitted?

Not sure to go for wool or tufted.
