    Gunson's Eezibleed

    Hi guys and gals,

    Have any of you used one of these to bleed your Stag's brakes/clutch? And does the kit come with caps that will fit both reservoirs?

    I've used it on the brakes and as it doesn't come with the right size lid I made one using a spare lid.
    ZF 4 spd box, Datsun shafts, SS exhaust, 38DGMS weber 158.9bhp, BMW MC Tomcat seatssigpic

      As Kevin says it dosen't come with a cap for the brakes, but it dose have one for the clutch, don't forget to lower your tyre pressure.

        Eazibleed people have the right cap if you speak to them nicely

          used one of these and you have to be very careful you get a seal on your reservoir cap or it can get messy very quickly. I've not used it since and unless you're bleeding the full system it's too much of a faff IMHO.

            If I can butt into this post - is it possible to get replacement seals for an ezibleed? - I need a new one for the top of the bottle, and I don't really want to buy a whole new one just for that!

            In answer to Thom's question, I have found the eazibleed ok to use. It is a bit of a faff, but it works fine. I think I would still prefer to have an assistant working the brake pedal and do it manually if I had the choice.

              I use a old lid, works very well as i had no one to push the pedal, as some else has said the seals on the top need to be good along with the seals between the resevoir and master cylinder. i would use only 10-12 psi, this seemed to work very well for me, I changed the brake fluid twice due to a poor quality replacement master cyclinder but that another story.

                  Well that's the ba' burst then - all I have is a wife who has no interest in football, little or no interest in the Stag , and (I hope!), no interest in women . Thanks for all your input guys. A nice man at Gunson's is looking into getting me a cap to fit the brake reservoir as I don't have a spare one to hand. Should hear from him tomorrow hopefully - watch this space!

                    There are two things that I like about the Eezibleed including:

                    1) You can rely on it more than if you have a semi-incompetent person at the pedal (it is amazing how many people (despite being into cars) do not understand the principles of why air gets drawn into the braking system during bleeding...).

                    2) It can potentially save a master cylinder, especially one that has not had its fluid changed for a very long time. Of course there is another school of thought with this (what will be will be (I.e the master cylinder was destined to leak due to previous neglect)). Also, you could get away with bleeding the system using the two man method by only taking the brake pedal down a part of the way...

                    As long as you can get a good seal it is a great bit of kit IMO . Recently I have found a couple of friends I do trust to bleed brakes which is great . One of them is not even a car nut!
