Preserve your hood frame now with a few drops of oil (but wipe carefully to protect the lining from oil stains).
I see too many hood frames that have dry pivot points, and as a result many have siezed and broken. Just a few drops of oil now and then would have saved many of them.
Dont forget that at the front corners is a pivot point too. This only moves a few degrees so oil here is even more crucial.
If one of the bolts breaks, please try to use only imperial UNF bolts to repair; metric bolts are unsuitable although often used.
