    New Forest run April 14

Ok, we've already talked about the New Forest run on the Drive it Day thread but I thought it might be worth starting another thread about this. Note that it's the week before Drive it Day. www.triumphnewforestrun.co.uk

I did it two years ago and it was great. I see Paul (firept) has done it twice and will be doing it again this year, as is Al (al-stag) and Glyn (brooklands green) & Richard Saunders ? are hoping to make it, so who else ?

Entries have got to be in by 31st March so we've only got a couple of weeks but wouldn't it be great if we could get Stags as the most popular car in the event, as was the case in 2011.

Come on guys ! Ian with the MM ? it'd be great to see you and how about John EB Goode ?

    Cheers

    Julian

Julian I would really love to do this one.....missed both the previous ones due to the MM not being up to scratch at the actual time!

Brilliant The entry form is on their website although it's a print and post one but if it's like the one I did a couple of years ago it should be great.

Look forward to meeting you there at long last ?

      Cheers

        Hi Julian

I think I'll be going to the Big Sheep Day in devon. My brother in law lives near there.
Not 100% definite and if it doesn't happen I would be glad to join you. Should know for sure next couple of days.

P.S. You were right about the heater valve. Squirt of WD and a little persuasion with mole grips and all's well now.
Cheap and easy fix, just the way we like it.

        John

          Sorry, senior moment.
I thought these were on the same date.
I'll check diary and will see if I can make it.

                Excellent news

That means that, from the Forum, there will be, at least:

                Paul (firept)
                Al (al-stag)
                Glyn (brooklands green)
                Richard Saunders
                Ian (Piscean 57)
                John (John EB Goode)
                Julian (jleyton)
                Jon (comeinhandy)
                Peter (PBH)

                Anybody else ?

I think, in the last couple of years Deano, Arbman Al, Peter (PBH) and (Ace) all entered. Are any of you in it this year ?

                I think
Steve (stagdad) and Wendy who did it are otherwise engaged.

                Cheers

                Julian

I expect buddy Greg will be along as well Julian (if only to bolt back on the things that fall off my car )

                  I'll find out and confirm.

                  Looking forward to it.

                  Thanks for organising us all!

Julian ,its not that i'm tied up that day but don't think shmbo would be to chuffed 2 weekends on the trot(drive it day the week after or before i cant remember). One thing i would say having done this a few times is it's much better if you have someone to go with that can read out the route other wise if you get split up at junctions you will struggle to drive and read the instructions.
                      Have fun!!!!! Steve

                        Steve's got a point.

Myself and Aerosilver each alone in our cars with no passenger, did the South Downs Lanes with the New Forest group not realising that we would be getting "Tulip" maps which really mean you need a passenger to navigate.

Inevitably we got separated from the Stag herd, along with Dean from Farnborough, so went "native" and navigated cross-country to the final rendevous! Have to say it was in the top two best events I have done in the Stag

                          Hi Steve,

That's me being dumb I was thinking it was Drive It Day and that you'd be off to Brighton.

Yep, I did the New Forest run two years ago and quite agree that a navigator is really useful.

                          Ian,

If the New Forest run is as good as it was two years ago I hope you'll agree that it's one of the best See you there.

                          Cheers

                          Julian

                            Steve / Ian.
Its not usually that bad for navigation as
A). there will be probably around 100+ Triumphs all on the same route and
B). its so well organised that there is a marshal at all most all turnings.
However I did go wrong last year at one point but I blame that on my navigator not paying attention (she does not read these comments!!).

                            Paul.

I'm also going, not met many club people yet and only went to the local club meet for the first time this month, however looking forward to meeting anyone there. Done the run a couple of times previously though (white stag). I hope the weather improves! Last year was good and well organised. Jon
