Same old story, you get what you pay for, a trip to a local scrap yard would get you one cheaper.

personally, I would stick with Kenlowe or Pacet....................no connections with either.

well it's still a good price with the £15.00 p&p added for Germany, worth a punt I suppose for that money

Klaus - irrespective of the quality of the fan, don't use those "through the radiator" style fittings. Mount the fan to brackets.
Header tanks - you can't beat a bit of bling.

Cheapskates! You have to pay extra for the connections?

I'm with Jeff and Wilf on this. The fan does not come on often but when needed must work. Chinese c**p has its place but not here.

Local rad repairer loved the through rad fixings. He sold many cores where these fixings had been used.

Ahh, Kenlowe has through rad plastic connections. Used them before and didn't notice any damage but weren't on for too long.

                  Hi
I bought a "bargain" fan a few years ago, it was reversible but it was useless when running in the opposite direction to how it was designed. I'd make sure it is designed to run the direction you need it, either push or pull.

                  Info here:http://www.pacet.co.uk/choosepacet.php

                  Cheers

My Kenlowe 14" HD 2-speed fan came with a choice of fixings. The through rad ones went in the bin and I used the plastic items that allowed fitment onto steel bars that were attached to the radiator mounting bolts at the top and bolts through new holes in the rad support panel at the bottom. I know some people don't approve of drilling extra holes in Mr Triumph's finest creation, but to my mind it was the best option. It means that the radiator can be removed leaving the fan in place:

Fitted a cheap fan a while back. It lasted about a year and packed up. When I took it off the motor was full of water! I was told it would work in both directions which of course it didnt unless you reversed the blades. You get what you pay for I am afraid.
                      Fitted a decent one now!

Interesting result. I am not after a cheap cooling fan--I have already one from a Peugeot 405 Break from a scrapyard for some €. Works perfect in connection with the 2 side walls and the home made cowl. No problem driving up the mountain roads in the summer heat.
