    On-line ticket rip-off (Not Stag)

I wanted to buy a couple of tickets for the Stoke v Spurs game in May, as my daughter is at Uni up there and we are Spurs fans.

The cost via Stoke's own on-line website ranged between £45-55, but they were all sold before I could buy so I have just been looking at the various on-line ticket sellers like Ticketmaster and Onlineticketexpress. Now I know they are in business to make a profit but they are charging between £118.00 and £235 each!! What a rip-off

That's a long way to go to watch your team lose but you're more than welcome here in Stoke !!

That's very kind of you. I have seen a few of you Stoke boys on matchdays outside the Terrace Inn (I think that's what its called)!

If you look hard enough you'll see them inside and outside of almost every pub within spitting distance of Britannia Stadium. What these folks need is to get a life - and a Stag !

Hey mark yet another crappy result today, the Potters main strength always used to be the win at home. I wonder how long Mr Pulis can hang on.
How are you getting on with stripping your stag, did you go for blasting or the dipping in the end?
          Cheers for now, Steve

What type of coach is it - a fully equipped Volvo by any chance?

Oh and by the way getting back to the subject of ticket price rip-offs,
my wife has just been on the Net looking at flights from Tenerife to Seville,
which for us is the best way of getting to the Algarve where we meet up with some friends.

Clicking on "English" menu the price quoted was over £100 each, but when she swapped to "Espanol"
the same flight was priced at just €10 (and this wasn't a Spanish Airline, but a well known low cost airline).

I have heard similar stories from someone else who regularly flies to Tenerife (via Madrid).
He checks the price and seat availability in the U.K. and is quoted a price, then rings up the same airline desk in Madrid
and is quoted a figure (on the same plane) at a fraction of the U.K. price.
He prefers to go via Madrid by the way as he can then bring back loads of cigs & booze, as a flight from another EEC Country has no restrictions, whereas the Canaries are regarded as outside the EEC when it comes to Custom Rules & VAT etc.

Well worth it, allows you to stock up on oatcakes and Wrights pies whilst up in Gods own County :-)

Mind you, the mind numbing Pulisball on display by the hosts would probably put you of eating them. Oh for the days of Hudson and Greenhoff.................

                    Cheers, Keith
