Monaech Lo-Rider Air Cleaner

Hi Guys,
Would anyone know if a Monarch Lo-Rider Air Cleaner fitted to a HRS adaptor plate (when using a Holly) which does not have a 7 deg built into the adaptor plate still be able to close the bonnet without hitting the air cleaner.

If you have a 7 degree adaptor the low rider will fit with the bonnet pad and bar in place. If you don't have these then you have a chance.

Hi Colin, RealSteel do a Low Rider that only needs 64mm from the top of the carb which I think will be ok. I've got one but haven't fitted it yet. If you can wait a few days I need to fit mine and I can report back (also no 7 degree slope at the moment)

will be ok. air cleaner enclosure was hand made using a template from Steve (stag dad)

Monarch do indeed use a Mr Gasket air filter for their Monarch conversion.

Surely a 7 degree wedge plate would do the trick, as well as adding an additional benefit of acting as an isolator on the carb .

I belive that the 7 degree adaptor needs to be installed so the floats sit level and operate correctly.

That depends on who you talk to . It certainly makes sense, although I guess the HRS adapter served many a person well for a number of years.

I was just looking over my engine, which is Holley plus 7deg phenolic spacer plus I think something like low rider filter (it was fitted quite a few years ago so memory a bit vague!) and I was reminded that I had to move the bonnet cross bar forward by about a foot so as not to bash on the filter top. When done the top of the filter just touches the bonnet pad but isn't a problem. Regards. Jon
