    On its way for repairs.

My Stag is now on its way to Faversham to have the front end straightened out. Has been laid up all winter due to colliding with a motorcyclist last September and was put on SORN at the end of that month. Just as well winter turned out as it did. The motorcyclist did have to take a rider's correction course in lieu of having six points on his licence - still cost him £220. So it is all on his insurance. Can't wait to be back on the road again.

    Hi Rod

I had a chat with a colleague about your stag a few months ago at a conference i was at in London!
He saw me browsing on here while there was some down time at the conference and mentioned about the accident involving your Stag, he was in the Miller and Cater pub at the time.
Turns out he is a Stag/ Classic car fan as well and said that your Stag looked like it was mint pre-accident

      Hello Darren,

You are right it was the Miller & Carter pub near Chigwell Row. It was a bright and sunny day and there were plenty of diners(it's in fact a steak house) sitting outside thus plenty of witnesses. They were all very helpful but, though it was he who made a right mess of exiting the car park, the main concern was his welfare as he took a nasty bang and it was thought he had a broken leg. I don't think this was the case as he took the correction course too soon for a recovery of that kind of injury. It was raining when the recovery man was putting my Stag on his truck I told him I did not take the car out when it was raining. He said he could see my point as he noticed that the wheel arches were all clean.

        Hi Rod

Good to hear it off to be mended. Why did you wait until Spring is about to arrive before sending it away?

        Regards

          Hello Bruce,

Thanks for the feedback. They appear to be busy chaps at Faversham which could a good thing for us Stag owners. I suppose most Stag owners want major overhauls done during the winter months rather than having the car laid up during the driving season.

          Regards,

          Rod

They're good chaps at Faversham, Kevin is excellent at bodywork, Trevor builds great engines and Dan is expert at setting up your Strombergs. Talking to Trevor last week when I picked up my Stag after its rear suspension rebuild he said they were very busy which for us is nice to know that at least one small business is doing well in the current climate.

Many thanks Steve & Phil. I had an update from Trevor just before Easter and he said the repairs had gone along well. There was a nasty buckle of the nearside wing which could have meant a new wing which Trevor explained they were rather reluctant to do. It turned out that they were able to keep the original so thanks for the news that no dents were visible. Trevor mentioned my post on the Forum so I suspect that he got this from Phil.
