Remote Engine Starter Switch

Hi all,

I have installed a Wards Starter relay and bought a remote starter switch from Conrad. Trying to avoid a mistake I thought I better ask the electric specialists.

I have completed the electric diagram with the relay: so is it correct to connect the two remote switch contacts with the terminals 30 and 87--and that's it??

And a second question: is my diagram correct?

Any help is very welcome. Thanks

Klaus, for a remote starter switch to operate the relay it would need to supply a 12v feed to pin 85 thus energizing the coil and pulling the contacts together on pins 30 & 87

I assume your cars an auto? Harder to make this work for a manual as there's no obvious neutral indication??
We used to use a lot of remote starters in Canada but not often on manual cars.

Thanks Ian, that means the remote switch replaces the starter switch.

Yes Nick my Stag has a ZF automatic. I understand that one has to be careful when remote starting a manual--especially in a narrow/short garage!

Had a close call with an Alfa recently. Started by third person in gear and tried to crush two of us into the garage wall. Had an imprint of a Healey chassis in my thigh for a week. The irony was the Alfa was in the shop because it wouldn't start!!
