Front seats

Hi everyone I would like some help on front seat i have a mk1 but the front drivers seat is shot, I have been after some mk2 seats but unable to find any, so the question is is there any other seats that fit into the stag without increasing seat height

I have been looking for good Mk2 seats also but they are like gold dust in good condition it would be a cheaper option than refoaming which works out expensive for us poor people.
I understand jag seats and fiat seats may fit but it means altering the seat rails and bolting points which for me is a complete no no as not diy minded at all.
I am sure someone will be along soon with more knowledge on your question.
Still hunting for good usable seats.

Early XJS seats I am reliably told are no modifications to Stag or seat.... in fact they are basically the same seat

I think it's unlikely to find seats in good condition with covers and foams all good and not needing any work, you could try Martin at just triumph in Cheshire <www.justtriumph.co.uk> for used seats but would still probably need work to bring up to scratch.I suppose it depends on if you're stuck to originality or not.

If the covers are OK you could consider refoaming.
Just did mine and very happy with the results.
Messy and sticky job but not too complicated, the main ingredient is patience.

There was a Member on here some time back called Mad Cyclist, He dyed some Cream XJS seat Black with a DIY kit and they looked excellent. Maybe worth thinking about

Plentiful choice, particularly in darker colours if you want to follow Ian's suggestion http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_tr...at=0&_from=R40 or fit covers if uncertain about dyeing.
