Holes in floor

I removed all the carpets in preparation for the new set (apparently arriving tomorrow) and have found a few too many holes in the floor to the rear of the drivers seat.

The 4 holes seem perfectly formed - about 10mm diameter - so nothing to do with tin rot or the mice I've been catching. There are no holes on the pasenger side.
Are these holes there for a reason? Can I just fill them with rubber grommets?

No reason for them Phil, perhaps a previous owner had a car safe or some such. Lots of Dynax and grommets should take care of them Martin.
