British Car Show Townsville Qld 15th June

    G'day All,

It was our local carclub's annual trip to Townsville last weekend and I thought I'd share a few photos with you. Unfortunately my 11 year old on ran off with the camera at the show so most of these photos were taken on the 400km trip down.

    Only 5 Triumphs attended, 2 Stags, a TR6, a TR2 and a GT6.

The weather was fantastic clear skies 27C, all the convertibles were top down on both trips. More important no breakdowns!

    regards,

    Raoul

              Hi Bob,

Still on for September, flights booked, British passports being organised for the kids, (don't want to have to join the loooooooooooooooong queue at Heathow).

              Arrive 13/9 depart 30/9.

Are there any good car shows on over that period in the south of England? My best mate who lives near Robertsbridge is happy to receive as many Stags as can make it or an organised venue maybea better bet?

Looking forward to a pint or two of warm beer!

              regards,

              Raoul

                Raol,

Excellent, you will be here for the Goodwood Revival ! 19th, 20th and 21st September

                http://www.goodwood.co.uk/site/conte...l/Default.aspx

Just have a look at this lot. Racing saloons, sports cars and GT's on the track. Air dispays between each race. Proper bike racing. The chance to dress up and relive the period. Loads of fantastic cars and bikes to gaup at. Period food sold from period vans, and an interesting range of stalls selling period stuff. Period Music and dancing etc etc

A unique day or days out.

Play the movie with sound http://www.goodwood.co.uk/site/conte...The-Movie.aspx

Sounds fantastic, I've read about it in the classic car magazines, which day is the best to go?

I want to try to keep Saturdays free to take my son to see West Ham play. (My other vice)! Do you need to purchase tickets in advance?

Would anybody else be interested in attending?

                  regards,

                  Raoul

                    Raol,

Sunday is the best day for you. I think Friday is just practice. They have races on the Saturday with personalities and other drivers racing, then on Sunday the owners themselves race in their own cars. The winners are determined by agregate scores. I will be there on Saturday. Sterling Moss, Rowan Atkinson and Tiff Needel were racing last year, whilst Roy Salvadori was feted on an anniversary

There is no entry on the day without an advanced purchased ticket which you can get through the website. Get there early with a good picnic to consume on the bank. About 200 yards before Woodcote gives you a view of the start, Woodcote and the following straight.

I'm booked for the Sunday at Goodwood, who else is going?

I told my daughter who is seven that she could dress up in "old clothes", she said she wanted to go as a "gangsters moll" like she did for an "old time" photo. I think not!

                        regards,

                        Raoul
