"HELP" Wheelchair to fit stag boot

Hi Guys does anyone know which make and type of wheelchair will fit in a stag boot, have been looking at a Remploy Dash Stowaway, which folds forward like a buggy, the local wheel chair shop would not bring it around to see if it would fitt the stag even though the delivery man lives 500 yrds down the road????. so will get it from somewhere else. but need to know if it fits. does anyone know of other models of chairs ?.

    Cheers

I'm afraid that i can't answer your question, but the attitude of the local supplier sums up why so many businesses are struggling.

          Hi Martin,

Pat has one of these for the bad days. http://www.mymobilityshop.co.uk/xsaw...FRDKtAodC24AuQ

fit's in the boot if it's empty but I tend to just the wheels in the rear foot wells behind the seats to free up a bit of boot space.

Took car down in the dry first, tried lots of chairs in but no good, they then said they would get a remploy stowaway in, which came in just before xmas when the storms were here, so went and looked and asked if they would bring it up due to the poor weather, if ok would pay for it, the bloke only lives 500yrds down the road but he ever appeared so sod them.

My sentiments exactly, There was a lady in Kent who had a small motorised scooter thing, by removing the spare wheel it fitted into the boot, the problem then is no spare, alternatively if you dont use the rear seats you could do what some of us have done and thats remove the rear seats making if you like a second boot.

                  Roger,
I bought that ladies Stag. When I collected it we had to search her garage and shed to find the spare. As you said she had a battery chair which came apart for Stag boot storage. Most of the Kent area at some time helped her remove and stow her buggy. To make up for not having a spare, she carried one of those 'get you home' cannisters.

Going back to the original question, I have a folding travel chair called DRIVE model TC005. It folds up and goes into a bag which fits the Stag boot.
Their web address is www.drive.com and from there you can find the uk agent. I got mine through e.bay.
                  Keith

Woops, just checked the web address and it's under construction so I suggest a trawl through ebay.
