    Larger wheels vs toe-in

I'm fitting 15" minilites with 205x65x15R tyres on my Stag.
Question 1. Would the larger wheel/tyre combination affect the toe in?

Question 2. What would be the difference in the indicated speed?

    Hi Kieth,
Glad you have your wheels now would fit them and check that there is no scuffing on your body work wheel arches or any where else, would get the tracking checked just to be on the safe side, as for speedo reading with a four speed auto can't help am running 205/60/14 on my car with no problems, it seems to handle better and much more stable on the road and around corners.

    Regards Peter.

Hi keith, for what it is worth, I don't think your toe in should be affected, on the second point, the rolling radius of a 195/65/14 is 72.3" and a 205/65/15 it is 75.3", at 3000rpm you are probably going to be doing about 4.5 mph faster than you are at present.

Thanks for your replies. I will get the toe in checked, when I have fitted them and check for rubbing etc although the previous owner of the wheels/tyres had them on a Stag with no problems. It looks as if I should allow 4mph at 70 due to the difference, or use the satnav speedo, or get the speedo recalibrated. Got my tyres from just round the back of your works Pete at A1 Motorists.

I think you'll find toe in toe out is down to tracking and nothing to do with fitting bigger tyres, you can have toe in on the nearside and toe out on the offside simply because the tracking is out.

It is always wise to have your tracking checked to prevent uneven tyre wear, especially if you get 4 wheel alignment.

Just an update. I fitted my wheels and checked the speedo against the satnav and it's spot on from 30 to 70. The bad news is that every large bump invites a scrape with the wheel arches. I do have the hard top and full fuel which does lower it a bit.

205/65R15 is larger than the stock diameter of a Stag wheel (I came to find this out when I put an Audi wheel in the spare wheel well yesterday (or rather it would not fit!) as I was dropping off some wheels for a friend.

What offset of wheel do you have? On ET33 wheels on 205/60R15s I have no rubbing issues (although I believe they are slightly smaller than the stock diameter, but not by much).
