    Wheel nut size?

Just found out the hard way that I don't have a wheel nut spanner in the boot. A lovely jack, but nothing to get the wheel off

The immediate issue is now dealt with, but I clearly need to get tooled up. Can anyone tell me what size the wheel nuts are so I can procure the right socket?

    Cheers

    Richard

IIRC they are 7/8" AF, (or 22mm) someone will confirm I'm sure

Hi Richard, neither of my cars has standard wheel nuts so I can't just measure it I'm afraid. If none else comes up with the answer I can pop round with my sockets so we can try them until we get the correct one. I'm just about to go out and could drop by mid afternoon if that helps.

        Hi Richard,

I have just purchased a 22mm socket for my alloy/steel wheel nuts - works fine.

          Paul,

I carry one of these in the boot. It comes with a double-headed socket for 17mm & 19mm, but you can always use whatever size is needed for your wheels. As it extends it makes undoing the nuts easy.

Cheers Paul. I'm in the same boat as you (going out shortly). The immediate issue is dealt with (had to change track rod ends) so no pressure. Perhaps when we playing with trailers next later in the week we could check then? Sounds like 22mm is the way to go, but it would be good to make sure...

            Thanks

            Richard
