    Original Stag Sales Brochure

I'm sure many of you have one of these already, but a kind gentleman in my village handed this into my house recently - apparently his father had a Stag and this was lying around the house ! Hope you enjoy a browse.

Thanks for that Richard, a nostalgic read!

I don't think that the air filter box (page 6) is on squarely however........

Fascinating! Thanks Richard, I really enjoyed looking at that. I'm sure some of the photos are retouched from pictures of LD1!

That's a very sore subject to me Paul

When I worked in Sales in a Triumph dealership, I was instructed to clear out one of our storerooms. As Stags were selling very slowly by then (75ish?) we had boxes and boxes of unused brochures. When I asked what I should do with them, I was told to just bin them. I reckon there must have been at least 300.

                300 x £41 =

What's worse is I've just had to pay about £25 for one for myself

                Cheers

It is interesting to see how Triumph 'fudged' their literature. They changed the number plates on the photos to suit the year, and LD1 (Page 3) never had a brown interior - it has always been red. I have seen an identical photo with the interior red, I wonder how they did it. It certainly pre-dates photoshop!!!

When I exchanged my Triumph 2000 MK1 for a 2.5PI MK 2 in 1970 I picked up a Stag sales brochure from the show room. It was another 14 years when I eventually purchased a Stag. I still have the Stag and the sales brochure which is the original featuring the famous white car reg. RRW 97H. I believe this car was once owned by Barratts, one time sellers of Stag parts. Note the image of the couple and car by the quayside. The same image as appears in the later brochure with the L registered Stag but the number plate is changed.

On the overhead harbour shot they have also changed from MK1 to Mk2 seats as well as changing the colour.
