Hi All,
I have been busy working under the passengers floor over the weekend repairing the floor and replacing the front outrigger. The sill sections were fortunately salvageable which was a relief. I have the new outrigger in and its all welded up which is also a relief. The rust is due to the front windscreen leaking by the looks of it but that's another job.
I have a small patch to make on the bottom of the sill and then all done for MOT. This patch will need to be continuously welded for MOT I believe.
I have 2 questions.
Firstly the new outrigger is free from any air/drain holes. The one I took off had a hole on each side about halfway along. The hole was about 3/8" diameter. Is it best that these holes are there or best that they are not?
Second question. There are no drain holes in my sills. I seem to remember (though I may be wrong) that sills used to have small changes of section along the bottom edge that allowed water to drain out should it get in. Mine have none . Is this correct?
Many thanks in advance
Paul
