    Help please

    Evening all,

Am in the process of fitting a wood veneer dash. I need to get the air vents in the centre and passenger side out. I have been told I need to remove the glove box which am in process of doing. But there is a bolt which is hanging in the glove box which won't let it slide out. I have taken off the nut but it won't still move, how do I get the glove box out. Secondly the wond veneer I have fitted feels bumpy when you run your fingers across it, is thi normal ?

Any advise or help will be greatly appreciated please.

    Thank you

    Sohail

    Hi Sohail,

Re the bolt you're referring to - is it the one that sticks out of a hole (about 1") in the top of the glove box ? If so, this doesn't hold the glove box in.

There are about three screws on the top edge and more on the bottom and sides. You'll need to undo the stay and the remove screws that hold it in place and also the catch on the top of the glovebox. It should then come out - there's nothing hidden !

Unfortunately, I have to say that the veneer should be very smooth.

    Good luck.

    Cheers

    Julian

          Hi Sohail,

it is as Julian has said, the bolt, you will need to put your finger in the light hole and pull the top of the glovebox down so as it passes under the bolt.
from left to right, 2 nuts on air vent wood, centre vent has 4 screws, dash with clocks 4 screws and disconnect multi plug for gauges, take out the coin try by pulling uphill on the plastic, gearstick surround has 2 screws under the coin try and also clips under the opposite end, centre piece, take out the ashtry, then undo 2 screws and take out the holder, undo the 4 screws holding on the plastic trim and it will pull out, take off the knobs, use a small allen key to press in the hole that is under neath, pressit and pull off at the same time, the silver trim ring unscrews, anticlockwise, DISCONNECT the battery and unscrew the cig lighter by putting a long nose pair of pliers inside and holding onto the internals and unscrew it.

          hope this helps

Thank you guys for all your help and advise, veneer dash is now fitted. Looks ok but need to try and get rid of the bumps. That was difficult and am not sure if it was worth it, lets see how it looks tomorrow.
