    drag strut

    hi
is it generally accepted to replace the drag strut in polybushes ?
i have read several stories of damage to chassis by polybush , but i am sceptical of this
    any views ?
    thanks

Rubber bushes are such bad quality these days I would use poly. I might consider voiding them (with a couple of drill holes) if they seem too hard.

An article came out stating that the design of the modern rubber bushes is quite poor and many do not adhere to the SOC standard (I'll have to search for it).

IME Superflex bushes tend to strike the compromise well between longevity and and ride comfort. A friend's Triumph Mk1 PI on the larger castor derivatives had near enough no harshness at all on the road and it was strangely modern like! I hate to say it, but despite being fully Superflexed on the Chris Witor springs and KYB dampers, it put the ride of my car to shame before I even touched the suspension (I would not have wanted his bill though!). Despite using the same bushes in some places on my car, I have not noticed any increase in NVH etc.

Chris Witor (Superflex), E.J. Ward and Tony Hart sell these type of bushes .
