jacking the rear end

hi
i have always been of the impression that jacking up the rear end of the stag , using a trolley jack, on the subframe was not a good idea,as it puts a load on the subframe mount bush, leading to early failure
am i right ?
whats the general opinion and where do you jack the the rear end up ?

Under the diff or under either radius arm

I use the back of the diff. It's as close as possible to a straight load path through the diff mounting plate to the body. I use axle stands with 12" long 2x4" blocks(300 mm 50 x100mm for those who can't handle Christian units) onto the bodywork at the very back of the rear footwells rather than using the sub frame.

All good advice Len. You can also use the swinging arm, directly under the rear spring, but take car not to trap the handbrake cable. Another point is the bottom of the rear shocker. Some jacks have a hole in the jacking pad and locating the shocker pin into this hole locates the jack positively whilst lifting.
