powder coating is a paint sometimes polyester based which is positively charged and then blown onto the work piece which has a negative electrical charge thus attracting the paint powder this in turn when covered is placed in an oven to cure along with pies and pasties quite often ! the anodising is usually a similar type of thing to plating, work is immersed in a solution with a sacrificial electrode and a current passed through the solution then the anodising begins much like chrome plating. The solution is usually carrying the plating element in suspension.when done its washed and there you have it . hope that helps dave im sure there is a much more technical explanation but that's the jist of it.
