    Rear wing badge

    Hi all,
    Just a quick question.
I have a new rear wing badge on order as one of mine has cracked in half. My question is what would you attach or glue the badge to the chrome insert with, as my old one kept coming away from the plinth.

I have some double sided thin body tape or would you use some type of adhesive or maybe no more nails.

Any advice would be great many thanks in advance.

    Cliff.

I just used clear waterproof silicon, the one you use for around kitchen sinks and bath/shower...have not come off in over 3 years.

    cheers , sukh.

Edit: I had to shave/grind off the sides of the new badges to make them fit...you may have the same problem, but easy enough done.

      Cliff,

Be very careful what glue you use. I fitted one with Evo Stik Timebond and it melted the silver background, ruining the badge........

I would suggest the double-sided tape. You may have to trim the new badge a bit to get it to fit. Some are slightly too large.

Cheers for the suggestions bare them in mind.

How come the badge does not fit in and how did you trim was it filed down or another method is it just the width or lenght you had to trim down I do not want to ruin a nice new badge.

Aftermarket ain't it thats why...pattern parts etc etc. Offer the badge to the chrome insert then you will 'see' where it needs to be trimmed down. I used a grinder with a medium disc, placed it in a vice and then worked the badge on the disc. Well thats one of the ways you can do it.

          Sukh.

              Glad to hear that Joel.

I think if you had used nails you would probably have cracked the plastic

              Cheers

                Cheers guys,

Only asked cause i have the last scraps in a tube of no more nails.
Have some bodyshop double sided tape also, but might go with no more nails now i know it works a treat when the badge arrives.

                Thanks Cliff
