It was Roy's car Mike and when he had the problem, he took us for a test drive down the long straight by the reservoir and floored it and say "Feel it?" Did we, we were numb after we got out and cant believe now that it didnt give up on the test. Could have been messy.
being a fan of small chassis Triumphs i have seen some really bad UJ's in my time - lets just say that that photo is one of the better ones i'v seen! always good to clearly find the problem though

Funny really - my first ever car was a 1600 Vitesse I bought for £150, bit ruff but I stripped the engine, rebuilt it and it went very well - except, it had this vibration....
I can remember taking my Grandmother (who loved going fast) with my then girlfriend to Margate for a day out - we did 100 most of the way back because it was the only way to rid us of the vibration which, when I checked the prop turned out to be a very sad UJ indeed!
Gran never asked for another day out!
