Moving new soft top off old frame to new frame

Hi everyone,
The PO had bought a new mohair soft top and installed it on the knackered frame. We have a refurbished frame from Vmad and are in the process of installing it.

Do folks put the frame in the car and then install the top, or leave the frame off the car?

Has anybody relocated a new soft-top!

The window has a rip in it. Can it be repaired? Or do we have to get a new one and take it to the local upholsterer?

If the window is ripped a new one will need to be stitched in, I'm sure someone will advise on the hood fitting on/off the car, I would think it is better to fit on the car though IMO
