Chroming rear corner bumpers

My rear corner bumpers are quite badly pitted with rust spots. I looked at the cost of replacements which is nearly £400, so am wondering about rechroming. Has anyone any recommendations of a plating company who can do this at a reasonable cost?

Hi - 'fraid I can't help but if I was in the same boat I think I'd start off with one of the classic car mags and see what the classified ads have. The do some internet searching to see if I could come across any other references to the companies advertised.

Hi I picked up a card from Doug Taylor metal finishing co Whilst at the Bristol classic show
He seemed like a nice guy and prices he quoted me were ok
I will add that I have had no chrome work done yet but if I were you e mail them some pictures to get a quote. Put a tape measure of something to scale the parts off in the picture too.

cant give you a price as I had some other things done at the same time, about 3 years ago, but still great.

Al, I am quite near yourself (Twyford) and have the same problem I was thinking of dropping one in to get an estimate at Wooburn Green here - http://www.buckinghamshire-focus.co....ng-plating-ltd as I have heard they do a good job. - Alan

Hi Al, I would also be interested in some plating if you do talk to them - maybe get a batch price?

Also do you know any decent machine shops hereabouts? I need a Holley spacer machined down from 10mm to 6 mm.

Sorry Paul I dont. There is a place on tbe Vanalloys Industrial estate at Stoke Row that has lots of swarf outside...
